Introduction

Developer documentation for integrating Folio into your apps.

Folio is a digital identity company. It builds secure document storage for individuals, verification solutions for businesses, and digital credentials for governments.

  • Folio Wallet: a digital wallet for passports, IDs, payment cards and tickets, kept in one place, encrypted and organized.
  • Identity verification: tools for businesses to verify customers and prevent fraud, such as ID document checks, NFC chip reading, face match and liveness checks.
  • Digital credentials: issuing and verifying digital credentials for the public and private sectors.

This site is for developers who add Folio features to their own apps.

What these docs cover

The documentation covers the Folio SDK: its runtime and stores, the setup on each platform, the vault and the documents organizations issue, the ready-made identity verification flow and the reference for errors, localization, logging, storage and versions.

Code samples have one tab per platform. The site remembers the platform you pick and shows it in every sample.

Machine-readable docs

The documentation is also available as plain Markdown for language models and other tools. These paths are relative to the root of this site:

  • llms.txt: an index of all pages with the Markdown URL of each page.
  • llms-full.txt: the full text of all pages in one file.
  • Any single page: drop the trailing slash from its URL and add .md, for example sdk/platforms.md. The home page is index.md.
